However, I have learned how to handle these types of customers calmly and effectively. The hardest part of the job is dealing with those customers who are difficult and not satisfied with the service. The workplace culture is very relaxed yet professional and everyone is friendly and supportive. The management is very organized and takes time to work with each of us individually. I have learned a lot about customer service, working with a team, and taking on responsibility. Every day I come in to the store and I'm given tasks to complete from the manager. Working as an in-store team member at Domino's in Grays has been a great experience for me. Sat nav won't be provided, you'll need to use your phone or your own sat nav, and houses with no number will be a pain to find unless you have the delm8 app, that costs £5 per month. Tips are quite rare depending on your location, the biggest tip I've had so far is £5 but they are a bonus and we are in the cost of living era. It can be really fun in store and can have plenty of banter as most are easy to get on with, you'll get regular addresses that you deliver to and sometimes I don't even need to use my satnav because I remember a lot of the addresses. It takes a toll on your car and I've had to replace 3 tyres in nearly 3 months of working there. You'll do approx 100 miles a shift in the weekdays, and if you're starting about 4 ish on a Friday or Saturday, you'll do 150 miles maybe more. My car is averaged between 40-45 mpg and is a diesel, and in my first month I spent £300 on fuel and got back £220 from drops. Unfortunately your job description doesn't tell you that now a delivery driver needs to do everything in store except actually make pizza, responsibilities such as making boxes, washing dishes, mopping, taking customers orders, taking things out of the oven/slicing pizza if they don't have enough adequate in-store staff. In that time, I've worked with 4 different managers, mostly nice and mostly understanding but some almost don't think of the complications you can experience on the road such as closed roads, busy traffic periods, and don't seem to factor in rush hour. I currently work at domino's as a delivery driver, and have been here for close to 3 months.
